Bulk email list marketing is a horrible way to promote your business.

Bulk email list marketing is a horrible way to promote your Home Based business. This is the process of buying an email list and sending them your messages. This is also known as spam because these people did not give you permission to email them.

If you do an internet search for bulk email list marketing you will get thousands of results. Hundreds of different companies offer email mailing lists for sale. Many novice online marketers purchase these lists in hopes of sending their offer to thousands of people and generating a few sales. Several years ago, I did the same thing myself.

Not only did I get horrible results, but I also pissed a lot of people off. I can think of few things that make people more upset than getting what they consider spam email in their inbox. People will tolerate unsolicited regular mail, and sometimes even telemarketers, but when it comes to email, spam really upsets people. 🙂

Bulk Email List Marketing Business

Bulk Email List

Bulk Email: Unconfirmed opt-in / Single opt-in

Someone first gives an email address to the list software (for instance, on a Web page), but no steps are taken to make sure that this address belongs to the person submitting it. This can cause email from the mailing list to be considered spam because simple typos of the email address can cause the email to be sent to someone else. Malicious subscriptions are also possible, as are subscriptions that are due to spammers forging email addresses that are sent to the email address used to subscribe to the mailing list. Just think about it for a moment. How many emails to you get each day from people you don’t know? When I checked my inbox yesterday, I had 138 emails. About 1/3 of those emails were from people I knew or people I gave permission to send me offers and emails. The other 2/3 were complete strangers, sending me messages without my permission.

    Hi Muhammad,

When it comes to our email list it is a chore to make sure people who opt in give a good email. I find that most do because when they opt in, I am always writing to them. I have a pretty good open rate and some even start chatting.

I do stress to give a good email, or to “white list” our emails so they don’t end up in their spam box. It is always great to remind them of that.

    Great suggestions!

That was a very good post about email lists. When I was starting out I worked with an online shopping channel. We were encouraged to buy leads and to bulk email them. Needless to say that did not work at all. I like your remark “building a relationship with your list by sending educational and quality emails, and then you can monetize your list” This is the way to do it!

Personally, I don’t like “bulk” anything because I prefer to build relationships – that’s more important and the leads I get will be quality. You can waste a lot of money om email lists. Those that connect with me really want to hear from me, so may take longer but it will be worth it 🙂
