All good ideas, Muhammad. My daughter went round asking for a part time job at a local shopping centre and got a job the first day. Then she worked at a charity call centre, then her university’s help desk. She saved up for an overseas trip.

My son had it easy because she got him jobs where she was working. He also got paid for creating posters and online graphics for advertising local events for a sport he followed.

I did so many of those as a youngster – babysitting, shoveling snow, raking leaves… Never cleaned houses. I still don’t clean well, just love my cleaning lady who does a great job. The internet was not available way back then and nobody paid a teenager to write or give lessons. Blogging wasn’t an option and ebay did not exist. Times have certainly changed and for anyone, at any age – even much younger than teens – with an entrepreneurial spirit there are now many opportunities to make money.
